Aman Verma, the popular actor from the 2000s, has taken an unexpected turn in his career. Once one of the most recognized faces on Indian television, he was recently seen performing as a magician on stage. He explained that he is doing it for his ‘paapi pet’.
The actor recently posted a video showcasing his magic skills on stage, where he cleverly made a champagne bottle vanish behind a newspaper, earning applause from the small audience. He captioned the post, “Well this is where i learnt the tricks of being a magician … Was a little difficult But managed .. Its all in the Sleight of the hands… Ladies and gentlemen Here comes the magician ... called. AMAN YATAN VERMA.”
Social Media Reactions and Aman’s Response
Some internet users asked about Aman’s new role. One person commented, “Bhaisahab ye kis line mein aa gaye aap.” To this, Aman responded, “Paapi pet ka sawaal hai dost. Kya karein?”.
Another user felt sorry for him and said, “Itne talented actor ko kya kya karna padta hai, I feel sad for him.” Aman assured them, “Kaam mere bhai kaam total hai. Chota kya aur bada kya. If I tell u the amount of money I got for doing this, u will come and take place of the assistant who came and gave me the bottle. Samjhe chahu.”
Verma acknowledged that he has been facing some tough times recently. He shared in a comment, “Yes I am doin good. God is kind. Goin thru some upheaval. But hanging in there. Love to u and your family.”
Clarifying the Truth: Magic Act Part of a Film Shoot
Later, in an interview with Hindustan Times, Aman clarified that his magic performance was actually part of filming a movie. He explained that they were shooting a specific segment for an untitled film, and after setting up the scene and rehearsing several times, he successfully completed the magic trick. Aman shared the clip on his social media for his fans, but soon started receiving messages suggesting he was facing significant financial problems.
Addressing Misconceptions and Rumours
He recalled a lighthearted exchange with a commenter in which he jokingly attributed his magic act to ‘paapi pet,’ or a hungry stomach, which only fueled further speculation. He explained that people were joking around and he joined in the fun, but this led to the false perception that he had become a full-time magician. Aman pointed out that other actors have taken on similar roles without facing such scrutiny, yet when he shared his clip, it was interpreted very differently. He hopes this will put an end to the rumors, adding that many people seem to spend their time idly scrolling through social media.
